Woodworking apprenticeship of the first generation. Passing down through generations laid the foundation for an established business.
1967
The first wood workshop was established and started working on mid-scale furniture projects.
Consumer expectations shape an organization's vision. Bienal's success story is written as basis of customer satisfaction. Starting operations by producing wooden products, doors and windows then transitioned to serving a different segment as furniture demands began to emerge.

Establishment of the family business for joinery woodwork in a 1,100 sq ft workshop.
It all started with a dream. Today Bienal, which has completed countless projects around the world, was founded in Adiyaman with a 1,100 sq ft workshop.
1983
Moving the workshop and continued working on joinery works.
To get around new opportunities, the workshop in Adiyaman was relocated to Antalya which is an important tourism region. Due to its location, a 3,200 sq ft workshop allowed the company to expand into new markets.

First domestic hotel project (TurtaĹź Hotel)
Completed the first domestic hotel project (Turtas Hotel in Alanya) and transitioned to the architectural woodwork and millwork industry. With this project Bienal grabbed a slice of history in otel sector.
1986
Successfully completed the transaction of Saphir Hotel, which had its headquarters in Istanbul, in 1986. We started to expand our target at that time.
Bienal focused on major projects and successfully completed projects for Saphir which is one of the well-known hotel chains in Turkey. With references from projects completed on time and with high quality, Bienal secured larger-scale projects and this situation shaped the growth target.

1993

Beginning of the corporate business process and establishment of Opcin Furniture. Moving to 11,000 sqft facility.
Bienal's brand awareness increased with moving to a 10,000 sq ft facility in Antalya. This provided the necessary conditions for creating larger projects.
2000
The family business grows and the company moves to a larger workshop on the banks of the Macael river.
Steps were taken to ensure products reached larger audience. Services were provided in various areas not only domestically but also internationally including hotels, resorts, residential projects, offices, hospitals and retail stores. A new 55,000 sq ft factory was opened. Investments in cutting-edge technology were made by acquiring machines such as Pile, CNC, and Vein to enhance production and operation quality. Additionally, with a workforce of over 60 employees, major projects continued to be developed and implemented.

2007

The first international project is completed (Aysberq Resort, Baku, Azerbaijan).
Expanding internationally was one of the goals set from the beginning and it became reality. The major project for the Iceberg Hotel in Azerbaijan was completed. Regular participation in events such as Antalya Hospitality Fair made it easier to reach potential clients.
2010
New factory of 110,000 sqft in Antalya, operating projects throughout Turkey.
A larger space was needed to undertake bigger projects. Bienal continued its operations in a 110,000 sq ft facility.

Establishment of China office
Bienal China office was established, initiating efforts to achieve successful projects on an international scale. A different vision was created.
2012
Completed the first big luxury international hotel project (Rixos Bab Al Bahr, Ras Al-Khaimah, UAE).
Focusing on luxury, pragmatic and functional designs, Bienal completed the project of Rixos Bab Al Bahr which is one of the most prestigious hotels in the United Arab Emirates, located in Ras Al-Khaimah.

Bienal brand launch and further expansion to foreign market. Fourth factory opening (55,000 sqft)
Bienal brand launch took place. With the mission of expanding further into international markets, the opening of the fourth factory covering 55,000 sqft was held.
2014
Bienal Inc entered the North American market via New Jersey to provide projects and homeowners with customized closets, cabinets, and upholstered products.
Bienal's infrastructure that was built on solid foundations, reflects the achievements has gained. By providing custom closets, cabinet systems and upholstered products, Bienal entered the North American market through New Jersey. This marked another significant step in transforming the firm from a family business into a global boutique brand.

Fifth factory opening (400,000 sqft) and launch of Bienal Home brand. Other factory facilities Closed
New projects were undertaken, especially in the rapidly growing Middle East region. Significant growth occurred in construction, residential and tourism investments. More than 140 projects, including luxury homes and hotels were completed. Due to increased demand, the company moved to a new 400,000 sq ft factory.
2016
First US hotel project (Staybridge Suites Times Square)
The company shifted focus from primarily serving commercial clients, working on large-scale projects such as hotels, schools, hospitals and residential projects, to targeting individual home clients. A concept store featuring kitchens, bathrooms and dressing rooms was created.
Project-based work in the U.S. began with the renovation of the Staybridge Suites Hotel in New York’s Times Square. Shortly after, with customer satisfaction and referrals, the company secured the District Hotel project. With these hotel projects in New York, the company also entered the U.S. market for project-based work.

3rd generation takes over management
After third generation took over management, Bienal was positioned at a different level and focused on providing services in different locations with a wide range of products.

Completing more than 150 international projects in more than 30 countries.
In 2018, over 150 international projects were completed in 30 countries. Some of the projects completed this year include Crowne Plaza projects in Ohio and New York, USA.

Bienal showrooms launch in the US – McLean, Virginia – Virginia Beach, Virginia – Ponte Vedra, Florida.
The first showroom in the United States was opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The showroom location was determined by analyzing the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the target audience, who prefer luxury and modern products for kitchens, bathrooms and closets.
2023
New showrooms opening in Florida
Based on market research, the process of opening showrooms in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, Florida began due to their favorable locations. The Bienal website was updated and the catalog was refreshed.
